Weekly Review: Jan 25 - 31, 2016

I thought it was time that I brought back my weekly recaps.  Hopefully, it will help me stay accountable and it's just good to put it out there.

Here's this week's recap
Monday
Total Calories:  1332
PM Workout: Elliptical - 30 mins, 1540 revolution, resistance level 1, ramp 10%
Notes:  My back held up pretty well on the elliptical and I wasn't expecting that, but I'll take it.  Received a new scale today, had to retire the old one after almost nine years.

Tuesday
Total Calories:  1392
PM Workout:  Run/Walk - .15mi warm up walk, 1.84mi @ 16:13 per mi 1min walk/30 sec run, .24mi cool down
Notes:  Felt pretty good to get outside and do something today.  It was a really beautiful day out and I felt pretty good overall.  I need to rebuild everything including my cardio, but I also have to be smart about not hurting my back.

Wednesday
Total Calories:  1374
PM Workout:  Bike - 7mi, 30 mins, resistance level 2, 14.1mph avg
Notes:  Got a good bike ride in tonight.  I found that it hurt my back a little bit, but certainly not enough to concern me.

Thursday
Total Calories:  1302
PM Workout: Run/Walk - mostly walk 2.11mi @ 18:34 per mi
Notes:  Not a good workout today.  My run walk turned in to a trudge home when my back started seizing up again.  I'm glad I at least got some miles in, but I wish my back wouldn't have started in again.

Friday
Total Calories:  1310
PM Workout: Rest Day
Notes:  My back was still hurting so I put off doing anything.

Saturday
Total Calories:  1366
PM Workout: Rest Day
Notes: Back still sore and allergies were pretty bad so another rest day.

Sunday
Total Calories:  1313
PM Workout: Yard Work
Notes:  Managed to get outside and clean the backyard and get all the weeds sprayed.  Yes, my back still hurt, but not too terribly.  At least I got some movement in.

Weekly Numbers:
Weight Watch: -6.2 pounds
I finally started to get back on track.  It was great to see the scale go the right direction for a change.  Of course, most of this was probably water weight since it's only been a week of watching food intake.

Run/Walk Miles: 4.34
Bike Miles: 7.0
Elliptical Miles: 0.91
TOTAL MILES: 12.25

Monthly Numbers
Run/Walk Miles:  34.56
Bike Miles: 7.0
Elliptical Miles: 0.91
TOTAL MILES: 42.47

Training Notes
It has been too long since I've done much in the way of training.  I learned this week just how far I've let myself go, but I've also rediscovered the joy of getting some movement back in my life.  I just have to be very careful right now so that I don't make my back worse than it already is.

Health Watch
I am a stress eater.  I always have been.  I am working on listening to my body to decide if I'm actually hungry or if I'm bored or stressed.  It's pretty amazing when you realize that food isn't necessary and can redirect the thought patterns on to something else.

I still need to get more workouts in, but I feel good that I at least got a start this week.  As you can see I certainly have a long way to go, but at least I feel like I've got a good start.

My Fitbit Flex has stopped charging so I ordered a Garmin Vivofit 2 from Amazon...Unfortunately, they sent me a Vivofit, so I returned and they sent another one - again, a Vivofit instead of a Vivofit 2..so returning that one too.  Now I'm not sure which one I want the Vivofit 2 or the Fitbit Charge.  My main reason for wanting the Vivofit 2 is that you don't have to charge it as it has replaceable batteries...but I am very used to Fitbit and the app, etc...Guess I'll just do a little more research before I take the plunge again.
