Countdown to 2012 WDW Marathon Weekend #15

#15 - Wilderness Lodge's Whispering Canyon Cafe

From the Walt Disney World website:
Whispering Canyon Cafe in Disney's Wilderness Lodge smokes up pulled pork, ribs, chicken, baked beans, corn bread and more that will satisfy any cowboy or cowgirl in the family.

In this rowdy, family-style restaurant right out of the Old West, start your morning with a bang-up breakfast of favorites such as buttermilk pancakes, omelets or an all-you-care-to-enjoy Canyon Skillet.

Later in the day, bring your posse by for lunch when we're serving up burgers, salads and sandwiches, or stop in for dinner and be tempted by steak, fish or salads. And we can wrangle the heartiest appetites, 'cause we've got lunch and dinner Canyon Skillets, too. Be sure to save room for the Canyon Apple Pie!

Why am I looking forward to Whispering Canyon Cafe?
The Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort with the feeling of the Pacific Northwest.  Located in the resort is a casual dining location - Whispering Canyon Cafe.  The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and loads of entertaining antics.

While I haven't had the pleasure of eating breakfast here, they have quite a few tasty offerings.  You can choose to order a family style meal that is served in a skillet and is all you care to eat or choose from a good variety of individual dishes.  Check out the breakfast menu here.

My favorite meal at Whispering Canyon is lunch.  You can have the all you care to eat skillet that includes ribs, chicken, brisket, sausage, beans, corn, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and cornbread or you can order an individual entree.  I personally really like the sandwiches - turkey or pulled pork are my favorites.  I really haven't ever had a bad meal here though.  Check out the lunch menu here.

Then you have dinner options.  You can have the same all you care to eat skillet at dinner that is served at lunch (except it includes a salad and costs $28.49 per person instead of $18.99).  They also have favorites like meatloaf, trout, steak and pasta.  The entrees are pretty large so you won't be leaving hungry!  Check out the dinner menu here.

If you can possibly stand the thought of eating more after a great entree, they do offer a wide selection of dessert goodies too.  Check out the dessert menu here.  One thing I should mention is that they have all you care to drink milkshakes - yes, you can have as many as you can stand - I know it's a favorite of many guests!

The food is really amazing, but you come for the atmosphere almost as much as the food.  The wait staff is rowdy, wonderful, playful and crazy.  There are things to keep everyone entertained - hobby horse races, birthday songs, anniversary wishes, and so much more.  Just ask for more ketchup :).  It can be a bit loud so don't go looking for a nice quiet romantic evening with your significant other.  If you want to laugh and have a good time, then you should definitely check out this restaurant!

Food is great, and the entertainment is just as good. Lots of great times there.. Just like they had a shortage of Splenda.

And you get to hear Matt yell obscenities at Cast Members after they scare the holy living hell out of him.
