Countdown to 2012 WDW Marathon Weekend #31

#31 - Epcot's Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros

From the Walt Disney World website:
The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros is a gentle boat ride through the pyramid-shaped Mexico Pavilion in Epcot theme park. This attraction, fun for all ages, stars the characters from the 1944 Disney film, The Three Caballeros: Donald Duck; Panchito, the Mexican rooster; and José Carioca, a Brazilian parrot.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring Two Caballeros? Where's Donald?

These 3 feathered friends are reuniting for a grand musical performance in Mexico City. Distracted by the sights of the city, Donald has disappeared. His friends go looking for him, but will they find him in time for the big show?

The attraction combines traditional animation superimposed over live-action film clips shot in such stunning locales as Acapulco, Chichen Itza, Manzanillo and Mexico City. These vibrant sights, accompanied by lively music, showcase the people, culture, history and arts of Mexico.

Why am I looking forward to Gran Fiesta Tour?
I'll be the first to admit that is attraction has not always been my favorite, unless I felt like making fun of something that is.  I felt that the original attraction was lacking some spunk, some fun and entertainment.  Thankfully, my opinion changed when the ride was rehabbed and the Three Caballeros were added to the attraction!

This is a dark boat ride located in the Mexico pavilion.  There is rarely a wait for this ride and it's a great quiet, dark, cool attraction to visit when the heat of the day is dragging you down.

After boarding your boat, you set sail for a cultural tour of Mexico.  Jose and Panchito are searching for Donald so they can perform a show.  What's Donald up to?  Well, in true Donald style he is out and about enjoying the site, sounds and adventures that can be found in Mexico.

The ride includes live action movie scenes with the animated characters added in to the mix.  You'll visit many well known Mexican regions and see a bit about what is offered for tourists in Mexico.

It's an entertaining ride and if you like the Three Caballeros it's a must do!
