Countdown to 2012 WDW Marathon Weekend #32

#32 - Disney's Hollywood Studios Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

From the Walt Disney World website:
Delight in traditional Italian cooking with contemporary flavors at Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano—a colorful, casual and family-friendly restaurant located in the heart of the backlot at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park. Here, you'll take in the sights of Mama's favorite Hollywood memories as you savor the sumptuous aromas and flavors of Italy.

Choose from a variety of delectable dishes, from brick-oven-fired flatbread pizzas to oak-grilled steaks and seafood. Mama's favorites include seasonal pasta creations, crispy calamari and—her signature—chicken alla parmigiana. There's something to satisfy every taste!

For a refreshing complement to the meal, Guests ages 21 and older can enjoy a carafe of Mama's sangria, a cold beer or a glass of wine.

Buon appetite!

Why am I looking forward to Mama Melrose's?
What's better than a nice Italian dinner prior to a half Marathon?  Not much in my opinion!  Mama Melrose's fits this bill quite nicely.  Tucked away at Disney's Hollywood Studios Mama Melrose's serves basic Italian fare in a great way.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but it can get a bit noisy when the restaurant is full.  Take a look at all the fun little things on the walls and notice the nice family kitchen style of things.  I will caution that I have have good and bad service here, it can be a bit hit or miss in this area.

The menu consists of a lot of basic Italian restaurant staples - chicken parmigiana, spaghetti con vongole and piccata de pesce and more.  You can check out the menu here.  The entrees are quite large, but if you think you can put away a little more, you can check out the dessert menu here.

If you enjoy Italian food, take a chance and give Mama Melrose's a chance, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
